Mark Sellers has
a unique professional career that runs the gamut when it
comes to music, dance and acting. Mark has hosted several
songwriting venues in Los Angeles and Nashville. For a
number of years, he has directed dance therapy for stage
four victims of cancer at St. Jude Children's Hospital in
Memphis. He is a lifetime member of the distinguished Actors
Studio.
His music and dance
talent, who’s who list, has had him performing with such
superstar artists as Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Stevie
Wonder, Tim McGraw, Dwight Yoakam, Clint Black and Marty
Balin of Jefferson Starship. Through his health and wellness
services, with dance and music, he has successfully created
a therapeutic "chair dance" program to benefit the elderly
suffering from Alzheimer's and Dementia.
As a musician, Mark
has opened for such notable acts as Taylor Swift, Leon
Russell, Joe Ely, Junior Brown, Rosie Flores, Nicolette
Larson, Jack Ingram, Jack Tempchin, Robert Earl Keen, Bob
Weir (Grateful Dead) and the late Buck Page founding member
of the Riders of The Purple Sage. When it comes to
songwriting, he has collaborated with the elite fleet
including Dan Penn and Jim Lauderdale. He also hosted the
“Hollywood County Line” series at the Whisky a Go-Go, where
he choreographed and performed with the Cowbell Dancers.
Mark has crafted
numerous dances for the film industry with his exceptional
skill as a choreographer. His favorite piece of work is the
dances he created in the triumphant rodeo film 8 Seconds, a
film about the late great champion bull rider, Lane Frost. A
movie directed by John Alvilson of Rocky and Karate Kid. He
has also worked with distinguished directors Mel Brooks,
Gary Marshall, Ron Howard, Bob Rafelson and Adam Sandler.
