The following Thursday
was an important show with Scott Helmer, who had just opened
a series of dates
with the legendary band
Heart, before he headed out on his National Tour for Charity
in every state in the
nation. We linked
Scott up with the local charity LINKSLO.org, helping kids,
and youth and families in North
County with family and
individual crises and problems. Local
singer/songwriter Stephanie Horst opened.
Travis Howard took a
break touring with the Kix Brooks Band (Kix Brooks of Brooks
and Dunn), in fact
Travis and part of his
own band drove up from Hollywood Hills to do our show, only
having to be back
the next morning to fly
out of LA back on tour with Kix to join his buddy Miranda
Lambert, who he has
written and co written
some dozen songs for and with, and Dirks Bentley, who has
just recorded one of
Travis' songs...
3 a.m. after the
gig some pickin' with Ron and some folks
on Pine Street
in front of the Saloon...eeeeeehaw |

Callie Bobsin was special
guest for that show and returning from a previous NCL show
with the always
a county gentleman
Tennessee Jimmie Harrell, who has been around from the early
music days with Vince
Gill and Dwight Yoakam,
and is a local favorite and wineries, honkytonks and events.
Callie is from the
Central California area
and has a new song playing on central cal's KJUG country
station and soon to
be released music video
on CMT.
MiddleJohn came down from
up near Reno to do a show, playing some of the over 150
songs he has
written and playing with
the likes of Bob Dylan, Canned Heat, Elvin Bishop and being
a member of the
exclusive sixties San
Francisco music club Artista, was joined by the very talent
local duo Rewined...
and the very special
surprise guest Ray Doyle sang some originals off his new CD
of Irish music, and
after 20 years on the
road with Wylie and the Wild West he is touring as a single
act.
Last, but not least and
on the way back to do his second show at the Pine Street
Saloon is Mark Sellers,
past host and band leader
for the PioneerTroubadour.com series some few years ago at
the world
famous Whisky a GoGo.
Mark is a singer/songwriter/movie choreographer who has
opened for the
likes of Taylor Swift,
Leon Russell, Junior Brown and worked with Michael Jackson,
Luke Perry and
the great movie directors
Ron Howard and Mel Brooks and many others in music and
film...
